Being Geek

Examples of my (and my family's) recent Geekness showing through:

I was so excited yesterday--I went to Burger King not for a Kids Meal--but to get a Star Trek GLASS! Yep, we got KIRK! Okay, 3 more to go... (Ugh, I hate BK...)

The last several times we have watched Netflix (instant) it was to introduce Michael to one of our favorite Dr. Who--Tom Baker. We are doing the Key of Time series right now.

Yesterday, I was thrilled to pieces to be able to have a sleeping 1 year old forcing me to sit on the couch and watch reruns of the more recent Dr. Who.

We have our sitter, we have the tickets and a whole group of us--including my son--are more than ready for Friday Night and the new Star Trek movie!

Where Michael will bring his engneering badge and our replica phaser...

I wonder if I can fashion Spock ears before Friday...

Lately, our house has been filled with the Star Wars theme over and over and over--as Michael obsessively plays Wii Lego Star Wars. (again--he already has won it several times over)

And, next on Netflix (rental) -- Soylent Green!

Burger King has Star Trek glasses Ooo. Need to get one or maybe four. J won't go the first weekend of the Star Trek movie says it will be a zoo. I am annoyed at him, that is half the fun. One of my favorite movie experiences was seeing the Return of the Jedi the day it came out. He hates standing in lines and Saturday is his birthday so I don't want to make his birthday uncomfortable. I think we will take S with us she should be able to handle it. Unfortunately K will have to stay with Grandma. They have a send away for Star Trek captain shirts on Cheeze It boxes. Wanted to get one but no place to wear it. Halloween costume maybe. I think I'll go back for a box. Sounds like fun going with a group. All of our Star Trek buddies are too far away. J wasn't interested in joining any groups when we moved here and it didn't seem appropriate to be involved with out him. His friend E is in to Star Wars not Star Trek. I did tell you in that last email I sent that S from the State Star Trek club is a Dad now? Little girl about a month ago.

LMAO!! This is great, Delenn, just great!! This is so Hollywood, but I want to share because you might get a kick out of it.
My friend, Kim Burke is the lead makeup artist for this Star Trek and her son is a background extra for Spock's childhood school scene. I think it's pretty cool.
Live Long and Prosper!!

LOL. As you can tell, the Spock family is chock full of Trekkies as well. We are trying to hornswaggle a date night to see the movie. We regularly Tivo Star Trek TNG reruns, old Dr Who reruns, and ones with the new guy as well.

I think I'll have to take a trip to Burger Death to get some glasses!

I grok Spock!

You know that everyone can be aged by "their" Dr Who - right? Mine is Tom Baker because he's the first one I remember.

Making The Memories...

Last night was going to be just an ordinary night...but then she actually was smiley and energetic...and wanted to make Grammie's Fudge....
