Total Confusion This Year--or, how I love hotels...
This year's Total Confusion Gaming Convention was a bit different, as we had Willow along for the ride.
One of the things I love about going to a gaming convention is that it is like a mini-vacation. You stay at a hotel room, you are in different environments, you have looser rules, you have a pool and restaurants nearby.
Also, it is nice to play in a role-playing game until 2 a.m. (like I did on that Friday night) and not worry about driving home--nope, you just walk a few yards away to your hotel room.
We had a good time this year. Michael did not play as many games this year as last year (although he did play Clay Wars again). He did get into a card D&D-like game and a new Munchkin Game.
Willow also had a blast--but she does anywhere she goes...
Some photos from this year:
Michael had to come with a wide variety of his stuffed toys (that he lately has been sleeping with). They include: General Grievous from Star Wars; Death (from Monty Python); Cthullu (of course!) and his various webkinz (a gecko named Pepi Jr.; an otter named Otis; a gorilla named Anthony; a snake named Spike; and a bat named---um, I forgot--he tried Dracula, but it was taken) He arranged these, btw.
Meanwhile, Willow had a more modest arrangement--but it included a new Cthullu just for her! Her favorite stuffed toy at the moment tho--Grinch (or Grinchy as we call him).
Awww...who's the little god of death and destruction now???
Willow liked hotel life...

Sounds like a fun time! What games do you guys play? My hubby and I are addicted to Settlers of Catan and just recently learned Hacienda and Killer Bunnies. So fun!

That is the scariest-looking assortment of bedmates ever :-) Where was the gaming convention?
It was in Mansfield, Massachusetts...about 1 hour away from where we live.
We like all sorts of games--strategy or what have you. We love Munchkin, but we also do train games, etc. We have a group of friends come over once a month and we play whatever strikes our fancy. Last time it was "Dune" and some other game that was D&D based.
I like Dork Tower; my son likes Order of the Stick.
That likes like fun times and great souveniers.
Uhm How did Willow get so big!? What a cutie
anything that is like a mini vacation sounds good to me. It has been a long winter.
As you know I'm a big Munchkin fan, but I haven't seen the Bites version. We already play with the 7 expansion packs, I'm not sure how much more we can keep track of during a single game.
@Eve: We played Settlers for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Pretty fun, but it's no Munchkin!
I love those stuffed animals/monsters/demons. My daughter has a benign assortment of "snugglers" with names like Quackers and Lucy. I think your son's would eat hers for breakfast.
BTW, I love the Beta shirt! Where did you find?

Stop by and say hi. :)

Oh my gosh, what an awesome time! We're big gamer nerds in our house. Some of our favorites are Chez Geek, Carcasonne, Zombies!!, and Chrononauts.
Someday I hope to have little geek babies like Willow - she's adorable!
"I'm still in Beat". Bwhahaha!! Dh also got a kick out of that one. Looks like you guys had a great time. Love the stuffy's photo shoots! :)
Staying at hotel is always a treat for me!
Sounds like it was a good time.
Cute pics :)
Looks like wonderful time was spent here. Willow looks so sweet!
Beta T? Woohootza!
Sounds like you enjoyed a nice little getaway. Good for you! I'm sure it was fun to play and hang loose and just plain escape from everything.

Great Show and Tell, I love the toys, especially Grinchy.
Looks like a fun weekend.
I love staying in hotels and having a break from being at home all the time. Looks like a fun time was had by all! :)
I LOVE Willow's shirt! Sounds like you guys had a lot of fun! Being a walk away from your bed at 2 AM is a wonderful thing. Thanks for sharing all those stuffed animals.
I love the stuffed toys! And, I love that y'all are unabashed gamers.
I totally love the shirt. It's great that everyone got into the spirit of the weekend.
I love Willow eating cookies, precious! Scary but cute animals too.
Hee hee! "I'm still in Beta"--my husband would love that.
