Show & Tell #36

One thing I am liking about summer -- S'mores!!

I especially like the fireside ones, but microwave ones work in a jiff...

Here are a couple pictures of when we first did microwave s'mores (Michael was like four, I think).

I got the fixin's people!

I'm pretty sure that I'm the last remaining person who has never had a S'more. I'm not a huge marshmallow fan...

Ooooh...I want smores right now. This just made me really hungry. The last time we made them, we toasted the marshmallow over a candle. Definitely not the same thing as a campfire.

Areyoukiddingme just made me choke. No smores? A smore virgin? This needs to be remedied. It's not the marshmallow taste so much. It's more the chocolate and graham. The marshmallow is sort of the background note.

Totally agree with you--its the chocolate and the graham cracker. Speaking of Marshmallows--I have to hide them, my husband and son will eat just the marshmallows (they are in an empty Graham Cracker box--shhh).

I LOVE smores. Best part of camping! I never thought of microwaving them.

I cannot believe you've never had a smore areyoukidding me. That should be your next assignment! Make smores and show and tell. And I agree they marshmallow is really just a backup singer. If you like chocolate you should like them.

S'mores are great because they're delicious whether you're the kid or the parents, and as a parent you get to recall your memories.

Camping and smores= chilhood memories. We always burnt the marshmallow so that the ouside part came off in a layer and then stuck it back the fire to repeat many times until there was only a little bit left.

Then I'd put it in the smore... :)

Messy, but, so good. :)

Madam, I covet your s'mores. The marshmallow is the glue, the putty that holds it all together. When it gets all melty and smooshy it is an entirely different taste and texture than a "raw" marshmallow. Also when you toast them the sugars caramelize and YUMMMMMMMMMM (lips smacking). I think I know what I'm making for dessert this weekend.

In a desperate situation, you can even roast a marshmallow over a stove burner (the electric kind). The things I remember from college...

My father laughs at me every time I show up at a campfire with marshmallows and graham crackers. Yes, I'm 36, and yes I still love them.
